Since December 2019, the covid-19 epidemic has touched people's hearts. Whether it is the patient infected with a coronavirus, a medical worker working on the front line, or the delivery of relief supplies, people have been paying close attention to the topic every day. In the face of the COVID - 19 epidemic, students from DESS not only responded to the call for home quarantine, but also contributed to the study of epidemic data, concentric warfare epidemic!

In order to more easily obtain the case data of COVID -19 infection and timely update the data, the research team of DESS organized the activity of “establishing a free Shared case database”. After the team's unremitting efforts and repeated checks, the global case database was finally completed!

By combining their professional knowledge and skills, students from DESS acquired case data from the national health commission and Dingxiang doctor hour by hour, and integrated the data from the two data sources to obtain the data of confirmed, cured and dead cases in various prefecture-level cities in China from December 31, 2019. In order to ensure the accuracy of the data, the data information was carefully and repeatedly compared to solve the problem of inaccurate data in the early days of Dingxiang doctor. In addition to domestic case data, foreign data are also collected in the database.

The database developed by DESS not only contains global case data, but also improves the time accuracy of the database, enabling it to map the world by the hour.

The database is used to visually present the statistical data of the global number of confirmed, cured and dead, accurately presenting the changing trend map since the outbreak.

The figure shows the daily number of confirmed, cured and dead cases in Wuhan, Hubei and China

The figure shows the daily number of confirmed, cured and dead cases in South Korea, Japan, Iran, the United States, Italy, the diamond princess and other countries

The figure shows the mortality rate of infected cases in each country as of March 3, 2020

How to get the database? The database, which has been posted on the cloud disk of Tsinghua university, is available for free download by the whole society, and any questions can be sent toxuhy19@mails.tsinghua.edu.cn.
