Introduction to the Lecture:

The COVID-19 pandemic at a global scale exerted a tremendous impact on the global economy and human health. To effectively prevent the spread of the pandemic, many countries adopted a series of prevention and control measures, such as "city lockdown", community closed management, quarantine and restriction of outdoor activities. With the further development of the pandemic, global social and economic activities were greatly reduced, and in turn the emissions of atmospheric aerosols decreased significantly. This report will take the COVID-19 pandemic as an example to discuss the sources of atmospheric aerosol pollution under the background of emission reduction, the global climate response of emission reduction resulting from the pandemic, and the impact of emission reduction on the 2020 "Super Violent Plum Rain" in China and the large-scale wildfires in the United States.
