At the closing ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,

Volunteers, the powerful support behind the Games stepped into the center of the stage, leaving an unforgettable memory.

IOC President Bach, in his closing speech, sang high praise of the 2022 Winter Olympics.

And remarked in Chinese, "Volunteers, thank you!"

Volunteers' hard work, selfless dedication, and sunny smiles,

Filled this winter with love and light.

Six volunteers in three grades of the Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University served the Winter Olympics.

The projects they participated in covered pacesetter service in the opening ceremony, venue competition service, courteous guidance and VIP reception.

During the Winter Olympics, they served the contestants and spectators full of enthusiasm,

Presenting the vigor and strength of young students.

Regardless of gains and losses, they served silently and gave their own warmth to this world-famous winter.

Turning their own volunteering into a winter beam and gathering power to warm the world,

So that such a great Olympics event full of love and hope bloomed so romantically in winter.

Now, as they have successfully completed the service work for the Winter Olympics,

Let's listen to their thoughts about volunteer services!

Ni Hao, a third-year PhD student, pace-setting performer group

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics has ended, but the volunteer experience over the past four months still remains in our memory like a fantastic and fulfilling dream, crystallizing the great Chinese Dream. The long rehearsal before the Games, above all, has conferred to us a unique sense of mission and responsibility. In this process, all the staff members of the National Stadium were united into a big family, and we worked together and shared the joy. I still remember the touching and proud moment when the national anthem of the People's Republic of China sounded at the opening ceremony, everyone took off their hats and stood solemnly, singing the anthem in unison. This will also remain as one of the most precious memories in my life. I wish I would continue to work together with other people for a shared future, passing on warmth, unity and friendship.

Zhang Yutong, a second-year PhD student, Pace-setting Performer Group

The pacesetters in the Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics have successfully completed their task!

Getting out early and returning late every day during the rehearsal, going to the Bird's Nest dozens of times, and experiencing many cold snowy nights, we felt all such efforts were worthwhile because we were working together for the Winter Olympics. Soldiers of the Bird's Nest stood at the last post more than 70 minutes during the opening ceremony. One hundred and twenty-four days of pacesetter training had enabled us to present the warmest and sincerest China at the opening ceremony, and expressed our goodwill to the whole world with sincerity and love. In the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chinese delegation made a historic breakthrough in the number of medals won, writing a new story of China in the new era, of which I am sincerely proud. People have faith, the country has strength, and the nation has hope. As young people in a city which has hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics, we will strengthen our cultural self-confidence, not only as witnesses of China Red, but also as participants and practitioners, contributing our youthful strength to the great enterprise of “working for a shared future”.

Wu Yuhui, a first-year PhD student, Venue Service Group

As a volunteer for the Winter Olympics, I served the opening and closing ceremonies held in the Bird's Nest, and personally experienced the spirit of greater unity conveyed by the Winter Olympics and China's efforts to achieve carbon neutrality. Despite much bitterness and hardship in the process, I have no regrets about my choice. I felt the volunteer work especially rewarding when I saw foreign media reporters and we media operators in the stands next to me sharing their happy moments in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics. I wish this atmosphere of peace and unity could be spread to every corner of the world. Let's work together for a shared future!

Dr. Zhou Yufeng, a first-year PhD student, Venue Service Group

It has been a great honor to be a volunteer of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, for having become a "burning snowflake" to volunteer for the opening and closing ceremonies in the Bird's Nest. The masks we wore by no means masked the enthusiasm of us volunteers. During the preliminary training and rehearsal drills, although various temporary tasks and situations emerged, we were able to face and meet the challenges together and successfully complete all tasks. I am very proud to participate in the ceremonies and witness the growing prosperity of our motherland. I will live up to the great prosperity, and make progress together with the new era for a shared future!

Zhang Shenglong, a first-year PhD student, City Volunteer

"Hello, welcome to Wukesong Gymnasium"

"Please keep a distance of one meter and pay attention to safety"

"Have a good time watching the game"

"Good night"

……

……

With the conclusion of the "Winter Olympics volunteer service", we felt not only a sense of loss but more importantly a sense of satisfaction and happiness that would remain as jovial flashbacks throughout our lifetime.

I'm very happy to meet this big family of Group 2 of Courteous Guiding. We laughed together, provided volunteer services together, ushered in the new year together, and celebrated birthdays together ...

Thanks to all the volunteers for having completed an unforgettable journey together!

Li Miao, a second-year PhD student, Foreign Liaison Group

I'm really lucky to be one of the 18,000 snowflakes in Beijing Winter Olympics.

Because we have jointly witnessed stories about dreams, courage, passion and encounter.

As VIP assistant volunteers of the Tsinghua Foreign Liaison Team,

We were responsible for receiving distinguished guests to China,

Whether receiving guests in a prepared itinerary or responding to unexpected situations during the Games,

We all worked conscientiously, and went all out as a united team,

Providing the most professional and warmest service for foreign guests.

I will always remember that in early spring in Beijing,

We attended an ice and snow pageant and cultivated genuine friendship across national boundaries.
