DESS graduate 19 Party branch carried out the theme activity day on October 19.

1、“Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind” theme education

At 10:30 a.m., DESS graduate 19 Party branch held an educational activity titled "the original heart of Chinese communists and the mission of contemporary young people" at S818, Meng Minwei science and technology building. This educational activity is taught by Luo Yong, secretary of the general Party branch of DESS, and presided over by Zhang Yan, secretary of the Party branch.

1.1Beginner's mind of the Chinese communists

Luo Yong from national level first introduced the theme " Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind " of education activities, the importance of this is in line with the urgent needs of the new era of Party construction, and is closely related to the contemporary youth's mission and responsibility. " Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind " embodies the Party's ideals and beliefs and goals, is the Party's highest ideals and common ideals of the unity. The primary purpose of the Chinese communists is to seek the happiness of the Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. As a communist Party member, we should realize the importance of reflecting on the experience of learning and growing, reviewing the initial intention of joining the Party and the oath of joining the Party, and reflecting on the life goals established at that time.

1.2 Experience sharing

Luo Yong, first of all, introduced from their own family situation of the communist Party of the older generation of people who remain true to original aspiration for the realization of communism and serve the people heart and soul of the course. The older generation has made outstanding contributions to achieving national independence, safeguarding national dignity and territorial integrity. The martyrs sacrificed their lives for the establishment of a new socialist China. Later, Luo Yong introduced and explained the important role he had played in the development of China's meteorological industry, as well as in the research and service of climate in China. By combining the experience of working in the United Nations, this paper shows the relationship between global climate change and China's strengthening of research on climate change. Let the students realize that due to the differences in culture and political stand, the foundation for the realization of communism and the realization of the liberation of all mankind still needs to return to the original idea.

1.3 The responsibility of the contemporary young people

Considering the professional background, the current response to climate change, pressure and challenge in China is still a lot. The key problem for development in the field of meteorology is, first of all, the lack of original research work, which is evident in climate meteorology and other aspects; The second is the lack of inter-disciplinary talent. This also leads to the problem that many key parts are stuck in the relevant research, so the domestic research should still focus on the solution of the basic core problems.

Finally, Luo introduced the personal development and summarizes DESS development situation, he expounded the department has developed rapidly, the main reason for the numerous key success for two things: a multidisciplinary cross, the faculty has different specialties, but all are based on earth system science, around the earth system model development, carry out geological research.

In addition, DESS introduced quantitative research and chose to develop the earth system model rather than the descriptive research, which is the main reason for the remarkable achievements of DESS in the past ten years.

2"My motherland and I" branch jointly watched the film

At 3 PM, the 19 Party branch joint by 17 and 18 Party branch in Zhongguancun Meijia cinema watched "My motherland and I" film. The film watching activity was led by Zhang Yan, Ren Zhehao, Xia Yang, the Party secretary of the Party branches. After watching the film, I couldn't calm down for a long time. I have to say, I was moved by the characters in the film. However, on second thought, there are also such people around me. They love the Party, love their country, and are willing to make contributions to the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. This is a special year. On the one hand, it is the 70th birthday of our beloved motherland. On the other hand, it is also my first year in Tsinghua University. Here, we eulogize the motherland and the Party, and thank the communist Party of China for leading the Chinese people to a new era. In the coming decades, we young people are the main force of building socialism. We are ordinary people, but we are lucky to do extraordinary things, just like in the movie to contribute to the development of the motherland. I learned before watching the movie that "My Motherland and I" is a major story formed by 7 sections known to all nations. I thought it would be the same as previous narrative films, but after watching the first story told in the film, I aware of the shocking nature of the film, I understand the meaning of "witness the big age with nobody", they are ordinary us, and the strength of our motherland cannot be separated from every "nobody". When children practicing table tennis, even directly I thought of myself as a learner when I was a kid; when I saw the volunteers at the Beijing Olympics, I realized that the grand ceremony was not just a familiar name like Zhang Yimou. The development of the motherland was very close to us.

Through this activity day, comrades from the Party members fully understood the spiritual core of " Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind " from the theory and practice.
