From 8 to 10 July , CESS , Tsinghua University held the 2014 “University College London – Tsinghua - Lancet Commission ” work conference . Anthony Costello , director of global health institution , University College London , Hugh Montgomery , director of Institute of Human Health and Behavior , University College London and other 14 international renowned scholars took part in this conference with about 10 researchers from CESS . Gao Li , deputy director of Department of Climate Change in National Development and Reform Commission , Yun Gao , deputy director of Technology and Climate Change Division of National Weather Service and Yongcheng Sun , deputy director of Department of Social Development of Science and Technology Ministry participated in the ceremony and gave a speech .

This conference focused on the plenary discussion and modification of the commission work report that will be published on the Lancet . Professor Gong explained the importance of public health warning to the sustainable health of human through a story about geniuses Que’s evaluation on three brothers’ medicine skills in the welcoming speech . Then members from five working groups introduced the development in science background , restoration and adaptation , energy and technology , financing policy and political mechanism and had a heated discussion on the issues faced recently with researchers from institute of energy and environment economic , institute of nuclear and new energy technology , Tsinghua University , National Climate Change Strategy Research and International Cooperation Center , Nanjing University , Chinese Academy of Social Sciences , National Development and Reform Commission , Chinese Disease Control Center and editors of "Lancet" in China , technological officials from British Embassy . Meanwhile , a public forum about climate change and human health was held to propagate to the society in 9 , July . At the same evening , Guanhua Xu , former minister of Science and Technology attended fete for the participators .

From the preparations ear on , the commission have a detailed investigation of scientific discoveries about the global change’s impact on human health to seek effective solutions for the resilience of "Climate change - health" vulnerable groups . Then through using the existing technological advantages and discussing a workable financial technological solution , the commission can provide the basis for political decisions ultimately . This conference agreed unanimously to join Chinese elements will be one of the biggest highlights of the report for the successful stories of the construction in Climate - Public health warning facilities and a range of health issues and coping mechanisms caused by rapid urbanization in China .

This commission is consisted of Tsinghua University , University College London and Stockholm Environment Recovery Center and aimed to bring the scientists in climate , economic , energy and health together from all over the world to face on the health effect of climate change with proposing a new initiative . The release of this report will offer a constructive policy proposal report to 2015 conference of the Parties in Paris about "the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change" .
