Introduction to the Lecture:

Space-air-ground integrated observation based on river basins is a frontier of scientific research on the land surface system. This report, with the Basin of the Heihe River, the second largest inland river in China, and Qilian Mountains as research targets, comprehensively introduces the latest research progress of multi-scale, multi-factor, multi-process, distributed and three-dimensional comprehensive basin observation from the aspects of long-term observation platform and special experiment, operation and maintenance of observation network, data processing and quality control, data sharing and output, etc.

Profile of the Speaker:

Liu Shaomin, Ph.D., is a Second-class Full Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Beijing Normal University. His main research interests are hydrometeorology and remote sensing, Internet of Things observation, etc. In recent years, he has developed the first scintillation meter for observing large-scale water and heat flux in China and the multi-scale observation technology of surface flux. He is also responsible for the construction and operation of China's first watershed-scale observation Internet of Things, with the related data sets registered, downloaded and used more than 40,000 times. Combined with multi-source remote sensing information, he has developed several remote sensing estimation models of surface evapotranspiration as well as various methods of surface water heat flux scale expansion. He has also proposed a set of authenticity test scheme of remote sensing products of non-uniform underlying surface, and formulated the corresponding national standards. In addition, he has published more than 200 papers, including more than 100 SCI-indexed papers, of which 10 were selected as ESI highly cited papers. Also, he has won the first prize of science and technology once and the second prize twice at the provincial and ministerial level.
