Abstract

In this presentation, I will share my point of view on environmental big data spatially & temporally. The key purpose is to better understand the nature of these data, and build the proper techniques or open solution framework to explore valuable intelligence for critical decision-making support like pollution awareness, prediction, policy making, etc. I will then introduce several typical examples and successful practices related to environmental protection including air, water, and soil.

Presenter Profile

Dr. Wenjun Yin has got his PhD degree Tsinghua University in 2004, and is now the chief environmental big data scientist of Cross-strait Tsinghua Research Institute. He has been focusing on big data & artificial intelligence research ever since graduation, and led several nation-wide successful projects on environmental protection and smarter cities. He is the member of academic committees including Beijing Air Particle Key laboratory, China Energy Internet Equipment, etc.He has been awarded “INFORMS Franz Edelman Prize Finalist”, “The second award of the Scientific and Technological Progress of the State” and other honors according to his outstanding contribution. He has published over 30 papers, and filed over 20 invention patents.
