Abstract

Aerosol, cloud and precipitation physics is one of the most important research directions in atmospheric physics. With more and more advanced observation methods, the research field is expanding and the research content is getting deeper and deeper. Nevertheless, due to the limitations of cloud penetrating observation in many aspects, compared with the development of other atmospheric science directions, cloud precipitation physics is still full of many unknown factors and uncertainties, which requires the joint efforts of researchers in observation, theory and mode. This report will start from the actual observation of cloud precipitation aircraft in China in recent years, to talk about the problems and challenges of the observation methods, data processing and other aspects.

Presenter Profile

Li Peiren, senior engineer of China Meteorological Administration, has long been engaged in cloud precipitation physics research. He has rich experience and profound academic attainments in aerosol and stratospheric cloud-penetrating detection and once organized the joint cloud-penetrating detection test of three aircraft at different altitudes at the same time and place for the first time in the research of major national projects. In recent years, his research direction has shifted to the research and development of cumulus cloud penetrating detection and cloud physical observation instruments.
