Abstract

Milutinovic Milwaukee City forest management has more than 100 years of history, this allows us to study the street construction, Holland elm blight and a street tree borer survival and health effects. Our research is based on the first survey of trees in 1979. Subsequent studies have led to a change in policy and a reduction in the impact of buildings on trees. 25 years later, we re investigated these trees. We also reconstructed tree data in 1956, and analyzed the ecological and economic impacts of different management choices with software. We find that active management provides the highest efficiency and maintains a variety of ecosystem services.
