In the afternoon of April 15th, Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University (abbreviated as "DESS" in this article) -China Meteorological Administration Public Meteorological Service Center (abbreviated as "Public Service Center" in this article) cooperative and communitive symposium was held in the MENG Minwei Technology Building of Tsinghua University.LUO Yong, Dean ofDESS, CHEN Yunfeng, Associate Dean of the Public Service Center, and SHEN Yanbo, Chief of the Public Service Center, attended the meeting.

LUO Yong, Dean ofDESSwas speaking

On behalf ofDESS, LUO Yong first expressed his welcome to the visit of the Public Service Center. He introduced the development history and basic situation ofDESS, and retrospected the history of cooperation betweenDESSand the Public Service Center.LUO Yong said that, at present, China attaches great importance to works in terms of peak carbon dioxide emissions, carbon emissions and solutions to climate change currently. It is hoped that through further exchanges and discussions, both sides are able to complement advantages of each other, utilize resources of each other, and seek more possibilities for cooperation.

CHEN Yunfeng, the Associate Dean of thePublic Service Center was speaking

CHEN Yunfeng said that, Tsinghua University is the cradle of fostering meteorological talents, and many famous people such as HUANG Shaqian and ZHAO Jiuzhang have emerged. At present, in the face of changes in international environment and social demand, meteorological services are also facing new challenges and new opportunities.DESSowns cutting-edge and advanced scientific research results. It is hoped that in the future, both parties will bring their respective advantages into full play, strengthen communication, carry out all-round cooperation, and achieve more transformation of results.
