On June 23, 2021, the second post-doctoral academic forum of Department of Earth System Science was held in Conference Room S818 at the South Building of MENG Minwei Science and Technology Building. The forum was held in a combination of online and offline methods. More than 30 post-doctoral fellows Department of Earth System Science and School of Vehicles participated in this forum, including those scheduled to enter the station in July. In the forum, post-doctoral fellows TAN Shen, LI Rui, and LIU Zhao from Department of Earth System Science, and post-doctoral fellow ZHANG Guojun from School of Vehicles gave reports in combination with their scientific research direction, research experience, and application for fund projects.

At the forum, TAN Shen made a report with the theme "The Status Quo and Challenges of Ecological Remote Sensing". He introduced how to combine the basic principles of plant physiology and ecology with remote sensing technology and apply them to the remote sensing estimation of plant photosynthetic capacity, water cycle, agricultural yield estimation and other fields.

ZHANG Guojun gave a report titled "Post doctorate out of the station and life in Beijing". Based on his personal experience and the scientific research during the postdoctoral work, he described in detail the current situation of the postdoctoral fellow, the matters that need to be paid attention to in the future work and the policies that need to be understood, and introduced his own practical experience as a postdoctoral fellow to provide references for postdoctoral fellow’s work and life in Beijing.

LI Rui gave a report titled "Postdoctoral Fund Application Experience Sharing and Postdoctoral Experience Testimonials". Based on his research experience in air quality simulation and aerosol chemical composition quantitative analysis, he gave a detailed introduction to the fund application experience.

Dr. LIU Zhao gave a report that is titled "Sharing of Experiences and Lessons in Post Doctor and Youth Fund Application". Based on his experience in applying for post doctor and youth funds, he described in detail the issues and details that need to be paid attention to in the application process.

The post-doctors participating in the conference said that through this activity, they learned many useful experiences in academic, work and life. This event was also used as a "entry education" to provide a reference for post-doctors who are about to enter.
