On March 25, 2014 , start –meeting of national key basic research and development program (973) Program “Global and Chinese atmospheric composition , climate change and their interaction on decadal scale ” was held in Tsinghua University . Leaders and experts attending this meeting including program scientific advisories : Academician Guanhua Xu , Mingxing Wang , consultants in resources and environment field of Science and Technology Ministry , researcher in institute of atmospheric physics , Chinese Academy of Science , Lingen Bian , researcher in Chinese Academy of Meteorological Science , professor Qinyu Liu from Chinese Marine University ; experts of this program : professor Yongjiu Dai from Beijing Normal University , Professor Yongyun Hu from Peking University , researcher Kequan Jiang from energy research institute of NDRC , professor Yong Luo from Tsinghua University etc. Approximately 40 participants from Tsinghua University , Peking University , NDRC , Chinese Academy of Meteorological Science took part in this conference .

The start meeting ceremony was hosted by Bin Wang , the program’s chief scientist , professor from CESS , Tsinghua University . Zhiqiang Wang , vice president of research school , Tsinghua University gave a welcome speech to the attenders . Then academician Xu , Dr. Xie , and researcher Wang separately made lectures one by one to congratulate to this meeting . Professor Bin Wang’s introduction included project background , the country needs analysis, key scientific issues to be resolved, the overall goal of the research content, research ideas, the implementation of programs . After that , the other three project leaders also made a detailed introduction about each topic .

All the experts listened carefully and proposed many important advice and constructive comments . The program will be carried out based on the stated objectives and the comments from the experts .
