Profile of the Speaker

Jia Gensuo is Researcher at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, and Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently Director of the Global Change Research Center for East Asia of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Deputy Director of the International Research Center for Sustainable Development Big Data. He is also a member of the Asia-Pacific Advisory Committee of the International Scientific Union (ISC), Vice Chairman of the Climate Change Working Group of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), Coordinating Lead Author (CLA) of the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land (SRCCL), CLA of the sixth and seventh reports of the United Nations Global Environment Outlook (GEO-6, 7), a member of the Foresight Expert Panel of the United Nations Environment Programme, and the lead author of the report chapter of the Fourth National Assessment of Climate Change in China. Prof. Jia is mainly engaged in climate change and terrestrial ecosystem-atmosphere interaction related research. In recent years, he has published more than 140 papers in international academic journals such as Science, Nature Climate Change, Science Advances, Global Change Biology, and BAMS. He was rated Highly Cited Researcher by Elsevier in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
