Introduction to the Speaker:

Zeng Ning is a Professor of the University of Maryland and Director of the Environmental Monitoring Laboratory. He is mainly engaged in research in carbon cycle and climate change, earth system simulation, land-atmosphere interaction, environmental monitoring, carbon removal and renewable energy and other related disciplines. He has published 9 articles (as first author for 4 articles) in Science and Nature. In addition, he has published more than 140 academic papers in international mainstream SCI journals, receiving more than 17,000 ISI citations. He is a Highly Cited Researcher in H-index 53 and Clarivate (Web of Science). Meanwhile, he is a co-founder of the journal Earth System Dynamics of the European Geosciences Union (EGU), Chairman of the 9th International Conference on Carbon Dioxide, author of three reports of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), scientist of the Global Carbon Program (GCP), and one of the drafters of the US National Carbon Research Program. Besides, he has led the development of the UMD earth system model, land carbon cycle model VEGAS, and SENSE urban environmental monitoring system.
