Abstract

Industrial ecology is a new discipline that supports the sustainable development policy of industries, regions and countries through the evaluation of the resources of the social and economic systems and the change of the energy material stock and flow. In the past more than 20 years, the field of material flow analysis, life cycle assessment, input-output analysis and other mature methods, such as urban metabolism, sustainable production and consumption have been developed in this field. This report focuses on the latest developments in the field of socioeconomic metabolism, and shows its role in energy material emissions coupling and climate change policy support through relevant cases.

Presenter Profile

Liu Gang, a professor at University of Southern Danmark, is mainly engaged in industrial ecology, socioeconomic metabolism and urban sustainable development. Vice chairman of the society economic metabolism branch of the international society of industrial ecology, deputy director and Secretary General of the Special Committee on resource mobility and management of the natural resources society of China. SCI Journal Resource, Conservation and Recycling associate editor and other SCI journal editorial board, won the Robert A. Laudise youth Scientist Award of the International Industrial Ecology Institute, Environmental Science & Technology best paper award, and was invited to be the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the OECD organization, international energy Advisory bodies such as the source office, the International Aluminum Association and the European Union Joint Research Center.
