Presenter Profile

Alfredo Huete is currently a Professor of Excellence at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia and Director of Ecosystem Health and Functioning at the Climate Change Research Center. He is also the chief scientist of the NDVI / EVI standard product for Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data in the United States Earth Observing Ecosystem (EOS). He has long been engaged in research on the interactions between vegetation and climate change, as well as on the modeling of surface processes in climate models. Scientific research achievements in the field of surface carbon cycle have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of global climate change research. In the field of vegetation remote sensing and global ecology, he has published over 300 academic papers and over 10 monographs (including chapters). The paper has been cited for more than 19,000 times, of which two papers (first author), the most classic on the satellite remote sensing vegetation index, were quoted 3400 and 3300 respectively.
