讲座简介：

Operational oceanography is an integrated science on ocean monitoring, modelling and service. It covers a wide range of spatiotemporal scales, from local estuary to global and from minutes to decades. With generating new knowledge, information and service on ocean, ice, waves, biogeochemistry, ecosystems and climate, operational oceanography provides key support to ecosystem-based management, blue growth and sustainable development. In this talk, Jun She will introduce the concept of operational oceanography, its development in Europe, future directions and a few applications in China Seas. Specific attention will be given to monitoring network design, marine data management, modelling platform development and high performance computing. Future research priorities, e.g., seamless modelling, coastal operational oceanography and operational ecology will also be touched.

主讲人简介：

Dr. Jun She is a senior researcher at Danish Meteorological Institute. He is also Chair of EuroGOOS (European Global Ocean Observing System) Scientific Advisory Working Group (SAWG). He has been working on operational oceanography in the past 20 years.
