On the afternoon of July 11, Luo Yong, Dean of the Department of Earth System Science (DESS) at Tsinghua University, Geng Rui, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Cai Wenjia, DESS Deputy Dean, visited the Tsinghua University Education Foundation for an exchange meeting. They were received by Deputy Secretary-General Ji Jingwei and other representatives of the Foundation.
During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions on the Global Change Young Talents Fund and the Tianzhou Project established by Tsinghua DESS, as well as the upcoming "Asian Youth Innovation Competition on Climate Change and Health," co-sponsored by Tsinghua University and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Deputy Secretary-General Ji Jingwei commended Tsinghua DESS for its progress in related fields, noting that the Global Change Young Talents Fund and the Tianzhou Project align closely with the global challenge of climate change, offering significant academic and practical value. Regarding the proposed competition, the Foundation expressed its commitment to providing active support, facilitating resource coordination, and expanding its influence among youth, thereby fostering an international platform for youth exchange and collaboration.
This exchange has strengthened collaboration between the two parties. Moving forward, Tsinghua DESS and the Tsinghua University Education Foundation will enhance coordination to actively contribute to talent development and international cooperation in addressing global climate change.
