On April 19, the Party Committee of the Department of Earth System Science (DESS) and the leadership of the Office of Technology Transfer launched a joint study and co-development activity in the meeting room S818 of the DESS, hosted by Geng Rui, Secretary of the DESS Party Committee, and attended by more than 20 people, including Wang Yan, Director of the Office of Technology Transfer, Luo Yong, Dean of the DESS, and faculty representatives from both sides.
First of all, Luo Yong expressed his gratitude to the Office of Technology Transfer for its vigorous support and assistance in the transformation of technological achievements for faculty members in the DESS. He introduced the research work of the DESS from the aspects of faculty, research characteristics and representative achievements, with a focus on the model development research, the application case of AI for Earth in Tsinghua, and the key projects with DESS characteristics such as “Tianzhou Project”.

On the theme of “accelerating the release of the transformation vitality of scientific and technological achievements”, Wang Yan expounded her understanding on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements from the perspective of scientific and systematic thinking, and introduced the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in universities and representative cases around the institutional system, operational system and ecological system.
The participating faculty members also conducted in-depth exchanges around the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and special research.
