On the occasion of the 112th International Women's Day on March 8th, to create a healthy, harmonious and festive atmosphere, boost the enthusiasm of female faculty and staff for their work, and develop positive energy for development of the Department of Earth System Science (DESS), the Labor Union of DESS, Tsinghua University organized a celebration on the theme of "Walk with Love in Warm March". The event consisted two parts, "Luncheon Exchange" and "Textile Printing and Dyeing".

In the luncheon exchange activity on March 8th, the festive atmosphere reached its climax instantly through warm-up games such as "guessing idioms" and "scratching fingers". Later, everyone spoke freely around home and family life. The activity enhanced the sense of happiness and belonging of female faculty and staff, encouraged them to face their work and life with a positive attitude, and at the same time enhanced their mutual friendship.

On March 10, the Labor Union of DESS led the female faculty and staff into the Weaving, Embroidery and Printing and Dyeing Labs of Tsinghua University Academy of Arts & Design, where they experienced and learned printing and dyeing art design. Under the instruction of teacher Wang Jingjing in the labs, they created silk scarves, and the whole printing and dyeing process brought infinite surprises because of its mysterious nature. This activity stimulated the participants' interest in Chinese traditional culture and art, made them feel the beauty of nature and simplicity, and encouraged them to fully present women's beautiful, confident, elegant and calm temperament in their life and work.
