On March 8, the series courses on "Artificial Intelligence Frontiers and Industrial Trends" was successfully unlocked at Tsinghua University. School of Science and the School of Information Science and Technology have jointly organized this course to promote the integration of science and engineering, research and innovation, to explore the vision of graduate students, and to stimulate the passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. Lei Ming, expert Ecology Committee of the cross-strait Tsinghua Research Institute, founder of Kuwo Music, was invited as the course tutor. Professor Gong Peng and Associate Professor Bai Yuqi from the Department of Earth System Science (DESS), Associate Professor Zhu Jun from the School of Information Science and Technology, and Duan Luming from the Center for Quantum Information are all the instructors of the course.

In a brief opening ceremony, Professor Gong Peng, Dean of the School of Science, Yu Shijie, Director of the Online Education Office, and Associate Professor Zhu Jun from the School of Information Science and Technology delivered speeches.

Prof. Gong Peng briefly reviewed the development history of the global agriculture, industry, and information revolution. He pointed out that one of the main driving forces for social change in the past decades was the automation, miniaturization, and intelligence of machine. Associate Professor Zhu Jun shared his experience in conducting artificial intelligence research for more than ten years. He also emphasized how this course complemented other related courses already offered by Tsinghua University. Director Yu Shijie shared the achievement of the online education platform of Tsinghua (MOOC), and also suggested that this course is an exploration towards the frontiers of the subjects and industry of the online education.

The first lecture of the course was jointly given by Lei Ming and Xu Xiaoping. In the class, the lecturers focused on the topics of "Artificial Intelligence Revolution and Future Society" and "Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship", respectively, to discuss deeply the trends and opportunities of entrepreneurship and investment in the era of artificial intelligence.
