May 17-18, 2017, the fourth China Global Change Graduate Forum and Tsinghua University 480th doctoral forum was held in Zhejiang Jiaxing Remote Sensing and Global Change Research Center.
At the opening ceremony of the forum, Prof. Gong Peng, Director of the Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University, Director of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Global Change and China Green Development, delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the organizers, Xu Guanhua, former Minister of Science and Technology, and vice president of Jiaxing Municipal People's Government Chang Xinghua, secretary of the CPC Jiashan County Party Committee Xu Qing, former vice president of Tsinghua University Graduate School Professor Chen Haoming, vice president of Beijing Normal University graduate school Professor Wang Ming, Beijing Normal University Global Change and Earth System Science Research Institute Professor Cheng Xiao Attended and addressed.

Sponsored by academician Xu Guanhua, the Forum added the "Global Change and China's green development of high-end forum" on the first day of the agenda. A total of 17 top experts and scholars in the field of global change brought the theme reports, including five academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Lanzhou University Chou Jifan academician, Xiamen University Jiao Nianzhi academicians, the National Oceanic Administration Second Marine Research Institute Chen Dake academicians, Lanzhou University Vice-Chancellor Chen Fahu academician, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences Mu Mu academician). Among them, our department Professor Gong Peng's report "Earth system science disciplines development and outlook", Professor Luo Yong's report "adaptive and large data driven set monitoring", Professor Yang Guangwen's report "Shenwei Taihu Lake supercomputer and climate change applications", Professor Fu Haohuan's report "based on the god of Taihu Lake light of high-precision simulation and large data analysis" and other special reports, Triggering the strong interest and enthusiastic discussion of experts and scholars and graduate students. The addition of this advanced forum is not only the highest academic feast in the field of global change research in China, but also provides an important opportunity for the exchange of academic ideas and the communication of experts and scholars with young students through postgraduate forums.

Professor Gong Peng was making the "Earth System Science Discipline Development and Prospect" theme report
Professor Luo Yong was making the "adaptive and large data driven set monitoring" theme report
Associate Professor Fu Haohuan was making the "based on Shenwei Taihu Lake light of high-precision simulation and large data analysis" theme report
As a product of the high-tech era - "big data" has led to a wide range of attention in every industry and field, with the global changes associated with satellite remote sensing data and model data continue to expand in the global change research process, the appropriate use of data mining and data sharing has become an important factor driving research progress. The theme of this postgraduate forum is "Global Change Research - Big Data and Global Change", topics include (1) researchs on the facts, processes and mechanisms of global change; (2) the impact of human activities on global change; (3) the impact of climate change on global change; (4) global changes in comprehensive observation and data integration research; (5) earth system numerical simulation research; (6) global changes in large data collection and sharing. The forum attracted a total of 22 universities and research institutions's graduate students at home and abroad to participate in, including our students brought a total of eight high-quality oral report and three posters show. In the final excellent paper and excellent poster selection session, from the Department of Zhao Xi by oral report "single-ice cloud micro-physics program" won the first prize of outstanding papers, Zhou Lu by oral report "Sea ice parameters retrieval from L- "In-Memory parallel classification of remote sensing images based on Spark MLlib library" won the excellent poster award.

Young students are the main force of our future global change research, and the breakthrough of global change research needs the promotion of young forces. In 2014, by the Global Change Research Collaborative Innovation Center, Tsinghua University Department of Earth System Science, Beijing Normal University, Institute of Global Change and Earth System Science and Peking University School of Physics, Department of Atmospheric and Marine Science jointly launched the China Global Forum of graduate students with a view to strengthening And to promote graduate students in the field of global change research, to build the platform to promote student exchanges, interdisciplinary, academic innovation, and build an influential, creative young students academic exchange platform. So far the forum has been successfully held four times.
