On February 23, he was invited by Prof. Fu Haohuan, Associate Professor of the Department of Earth Science, Morten Jensen, Technical Director of Schlumberger (China) Co., Ltd. During the talks, Fu Haohuan briefly introduced the basic situation of the Department of Geography, including the research direction, the training mode of postgraduate education and the research work of high performance calculation in geophysical and scientific computing. He said that Schlumberger was the first technology company to provide oilfield services in China, and actively supported the Department of Earth System Science of Tsinghua University in the field of geoscience and computing science for innovative research personnel training. Fu Haohuan hope to be able to further strengthen the cooperation with Schlumberger in the earth system simulation and other aspects of cooperation. Subsequently, Morten gave a lecture entitled "Data Innovation in Schlumberger". He expressed the hope and desire to continue to deepen the cooperation with the Department of Earth System Science mainly from the Schlumberger's data mining, artificial intelligence, data virtualization and other research directions, as well as employee career development planning and several aspects of Schlumberger's culture and personnel training ideas. Nearly 30 teachers and students participated in the discussion.

Schlumberger Scholarship, established by Schlumberger Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. to encourage Tsinghua University students to innovate in the field of geoscience and computational science. They work closely with experts in all sectors of Schlumberger to provide first-class comprehensive oil technology services to China National Petroleum Corporation and China International Oil Company.
