On March 2, Department of Earth System Sciences held the first academic report for the Ph.D. candidates, which is an important measure of the standardization of the doctoral graduate student's final academic report system, the improvement of personnel training and the quality of doctoral thesis. Professor Zhang Qiang, Deputy Director of DESS, presided over the report.

The 12 Ph.D. students who participated in this report reported the main research contents, the main achievements, the innovation points and the writing of the degree thesis. Professor Luo Yong, Professor Lin Guanghui and others a total of 18 doctoral tutor attended the report, after each doctoral student's report, the presence teachers asked questions about the report, and made suggestions on the issues in the paper and the report. After the meeting, doctoral tutors made a discussion around the improvement of the training efficiency and quality of graduate students and other issues. More than 40 doctoral students attended the report.
