On September 22th, the first Drink Hour this semester was held in room S927 of Mengminwei Science Building, which was hosted by CESS Graduate Union Academic Department. This activity invited PhD student Tong Dan to share her experiences, who just published a paper as the first author in Nature Geoscience on September 6^th.

Different kinds of snacks and drinks were provided in Drink Hour, which provide an easy atmosphere for communication between participants and Tong Dan. Tong Dan firstly introduced the main idea and contents of her published paper. Next she shared her research experience, including some difficulties she tackled with and how she dealt with them. After the sharing, participants asked Tong Dan about the challenges they were facing, like how to balance the time between life and study and how to draw a plan of PhD or master life, etc.

Drink Hour provides a helpful platform for communication among teachers and students in CESS, which contributes to students’ further understanding of key knowledge of study and life, and help students form good study habit.
