From 13 to 14, November 2014, Peng Gong, Le Yu and Congcong Li etc from CESS, Tsinghua University arrived in Geneva, Switzerland to participate the 11th plenary session of Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and AfriGEOSS. Professor Gong, director of CESS introduced the process of 30m-landcover mapping of Africa with the effort of Tsinghua Team. After fully discussing with all the participators, Tsinghua Team realized the further key research zones to cooperate with GEO. The Chinese delegation is made up of professor Gong and other representatives from National Remote Sensing Centre, National Weather Services, State Seismological Bureau and so on. The Chinese delegation considered and adopted a number of GEO resolutions with other delegation member.

GEO is the biggest and the most authoritative inter-governmental organization of global observations and is aimed to develop and implement ten-year implementation plan of Global Earth Observation System of Systems to establish a comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable Global Earth Observation System of Systems. Meanwhile, GEO can supply a series of informational services from initial observation to specific applied products. Now GEO is implement the new ten-year plan from 2015 to 2025. China is a member of GEO and joint presidency and is promoting the GEO stuffs to be carried out.
