Over the past decades, phenological research has transformed our understanding of how plant and animal species respond to a rapidly changing climate, revealing widespread shifts in the timing of leaf-out, flowering, fruiting, and senescence, as well as in migration and reproduction. This talk synthesizes key evidence for climate-driven changes and highlights impacts on species interactions, ecosystem functioning, and land uses. Emphasis is placed on feedback mechanisms, illustrating how phenological changes can influence climate, ecosystem services and resilience, and human well-being.
