讲座简介:

During this session, Han will explore innovative risk transfer solutions designed to protect ecosystems—including agriculture, oceans, grasslands, and wetlands, from natural catastrophic events. He will walk through the end-to-end journey, from physical risk modeling and climate science foundations to the design and commercialization of practical, scalable insurance and parametric solutions, highlighting real-world case studies from China and world.

主讲人简介:

Han Chen is the P&C Parametric Lead for the APAC region at Swiss Re. Han holds a PhD in Earth System Science from Tsinghua University, with a research focus on sustainable agriculture management. He joined Swiss Re in 2017 and has worked across multiple locations, including Zurich, London, Bangalore, Singapore, and Beijing, gaining broad international experience in reinsurance and risk innovation industry. Han has led and delivered pioneering risk management and insurance innovation initiatives, including: the natural catastrophe digital platform, awarded First Prize at the Global FinTech Festival by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2021; An innovative aquaculture risk transfer solution in China, selected for inclusion in the FAO 2024 Global Aquaculture Case Book; China’s first wetland insurance scheme, launched in 2022; Multiple government-backed natural catastrophe insurance schemes across China and the wider APAC region.
