讲座简介

OMI satellite observations of NO2 and SO2 concentrations have been used to infer NOx and SO2 emissions. These emissions are analysed for their spatial and temporal variability over China in the last 12 years. Since February 2018 NO2 observations became routinely available from the TROPOMI instrument on the ESA satellite Sentinel 5p. To better exploit the high resolution NO2 observations of TROPOMI, we have adapted our inverse algorithm for NOx emissions. In addition, a new SO2 inversion algorithm for use with TROPOMI SO2 observations is under development and the first results will be shown.

主讲人简介

The interest of Ronald is especially in deriving trace gas emissions from satellite observations (using OMI and TROPOMI). Although this has been mainly focused on NOx and SO2 emissions, he is now exploring more and more the possibilities of deriving emissions for other trace gases, such as ammonia, methane, and carbon dioxide.
