Abstract

The 24th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP24),hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat, has just concluded in Katowice, Poland on the evening of December 15. The conference remained deadlocked in many areas until the evening of the 11th.What finally brought all countries together to negotiate the implementation rules of the Paris agreement? What are the lesser-known stories behind the negotiations? How do international law experts interpret the outcome of the negotiations and the future direction of the negotiations?

Presenter Profile

Lan Hua, is an associate professor of School of International Law, China University of Political Science and Law. Her research fields include international environmental law, European Union law, world trade organization law, international organization law. She has led the team to participate in Jessup international court mock competition for many times, repeatedly refreshing the best results in China, participated in the UN climate change negotiations for many consecutive years and closely followed up compliance with the convention, independent emission reduction contribution (NDC), global inventory, adaptation, indigenous people and other hot issues.
