Recently, a delegation from the Beijing Meteorological Bureau led by Deputy Director Ji Chongping visited the Department of Earth System Science (DESS) at Tsinghua University for research and exchange activities. The delegation was warmly received by Luo Yong, Dean of Tsinghua DESS, Lu Hui, Deputy Party Secretary, Lin Yanluan, Deputy Dean, and other faculty members.

Dean Luo Yong extended a sincere welcome to the visitors and provided a comprehensive overview of Tsinghua DESS's recent research progress and achievements in key areas including climate disaster early warning and disaster prevention/mitigation. Deputy Director Ji Chongping expressed heartfelt gratitude for Tsinghua DESS's support and detailed Beijing's current accomplishments in meteorological planning and operations. Li Chao, Deputy Head of the Disaster Reduction Department, highlighted specific meteorological aspects of Beijing's Resilient City Construction Special Plan.

During the subsequent discussion, both parties engaged in in-depth and productive exchanges focusing on the Special plan's key tasks, existing challenges, and future development directions.

This collaboration, which is closely aligned with the needs of community services, has elevated the overall quality of disciplinary development while providing critical intellectual support for Beijing's Resilient City Construction initiative. It has also built a solid cooperation bridge for future in-depth collaboration between our institutions, infusing renewed momentum and vitality into our strategic partnership.
