May 30th-31th, the 5h China Global Change Graduate Forum and Tsinghua University 522th doctoral forum was held in National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi. The forum was co-sponsored by the Global Change and Green Development Institute and the Department of Earth System Science (DESS) of Tsinghua University. More than ten experts and scholars in the global change research field, and nearly 100 postgraduates from 19 colleges/universities participated in the conference and talked about “global change and planetary health”.
The opening ceremony was held on the morning of May 30th. Xu Peng, the deputy director of the Party Committee for the graduate students related issues at Tsinghua University, gave a speech. He encouraged the graduate students to strengthen their academic ideas and continuously realize their personal value on the road of scientific research. Afterwards, Prof. Luo Yong, deputy director of the DESS, deputy director of the Global Change and Green Development Institute, and Prof. Yang Guangwen, director of the Wuxi National Supercomputing Center, delivered speeches.

The opening ceremony also invited Chen Jingming, the director of the International Institute for Earth System Science of Nanjing University, and the faulty member of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada; Chenxiao, dean of Global Change and Earth System Science Research Institute, Beijing Normal University; Luo Yong, deputy director of the DESS; Lin Jintai, professor of the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, School of Physics, Peking University; Wangyu, former director of the Chinese Center For Disease Control And Prevention, professor of the DESS; Luo Yiqi, professor of the DESS; Fu Haohuan, deputy director of the Wuxi National Supercomputing Center, professor of the DESS to give special reportes on several different topics.

The academic report and poster presentation sessions were conducted on the afternoon of May 30th and May 31st, which provided graduate students with a platform to exchange scientific research progresses. On-site experts commented on the students' work seriously. During the interactive discussion, they provided directional guidance for the students about their further research.
Oral report and poster presentation
The forum selected 6 outstanding oral reports and 5 outstanding poster presentations among all work from the student participants. Prof. Luo Yong made a concluding speech at the closing ceremony of the forum. He suggested that students should try their best to grasp the direction of scientific research and stay rigorous while pursuing innovation. The teachers and students were also organized to have a field visit of the National Supercomputing Center.
