In the afternoon of October 25, 2018, in order to commemorate the outstanding academic contribution of Prof. Wang Shaowu, who is a famous climatologist in China, and follow his style of academic exchange, the seminar on Prof. Wang's academic thoughts and the frontier of climate science was held during the 35th annual meeting of the Chinese meteorological society. The seminar was initiated by Prof. Huang Jianping, dean of the school of atmospheric sciences, Lanzhou University, Prof. Luo Yong, deputy director of the department of earth system science, Tsinghua University, Prof. Gong Daoyi, Beijing Normal University; researcher Zhou Tianjun, from the institute of atmospheric physics, Chinese academy of sciences, associate professor Wen Xinyu, Peking University, and Dr. Huang Jianbin, Tsinghua University.

Prof. Luo Yong, on behalf of academician Ding Yihui of the national climate center of China meteorological administration, made an oral report on recalling my pioneer of climate enlightenment, Mr. Wang Shaowu.The report summarized main academic contribution of Prof. Wang, and pointed out that Pro. Wang was adistinguished expert on climate prediction and climate change in China and made a significant contribution to the long-term development of climatology and the prediction theory and method. He has cultivated a batch of and a batch of talents in the field of climatology, worthy of our memories and miss forever.
