On March 22, Professor Wang Yi and other thirty-three teachers and students from the Department of Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Sussex visited the Department of Earth System Science (DESS), Tsinghua University. Associate Professor Lin Yanluan, who is also the assistant director of the DESS, received the visitors in the Mengminwei Science and Technology South Building.

Lin welcomed Wang Yi’s visit again and introduced the history, research directions and international education of the DESS to the undergraduate students from the University of Sussex. Wang Yi briefly introduced the research progress in the University of Sussex and the Department of Geography and Environmental Science. He further focused on the “China Field Class” project: Since 2016, the undergraduate students in his department become to visit different cities and research institutions in China each year to enhance their knowledge of Chinese culture. During the free talk, students from the University of Sussex conducted detailed consultations about Tsinghua University’s policies on the recruitment of international students. The two sides expressed the hope that in the future, cooperation in the development of international education and other fields will be strengthened.
