Recently, Professor Gong Peng, dean of the School of Science and Director of the Department of Earth System Sciences, was awarded the honorary professor title of The University of Exeter School of Medicine. Department of Earth System Science has been conducting research on global change and human health in recent years and has published reports on climate change and health, planetary health and urban health in famous medical journal the Lancet. Gong Peng was awarded the title of "Honorary Professor" by the University of Exeter School of Medicine, indicating that the Department of Earth System Science has gained more international recognition for its studies on global change and human health.
The Department of Earth System Sciences and the University of Exeter have established good cooperative relations in the fields of medicine, mathematics and earth system science. Both professors continued to carry out intensive cooperative research in environmental health, ecological protection and climate change. Professor Gong Peng was awarded the title of "Honorary Professor", which will further strengthen the cooperation between Tsinghua University and The University of Exeter, and also help to enhance the international influence of the Department of Earth Sciences.
