13，January, 2015， preparation meeting of Stable Isotope Ecology Professional Committee of Ecological Society of China is held in 818, Mon Manwei Science and Technology Building, Tsinghua University. 20 scholars from different universities and research institutes gathered in CESS and discussed the development and future of this committee.

Professor Gong, director of CESS welcomed all the attenders. Guanghui Lin, main sponsor of this professional committee introduced the development and trend of stable isotope ecology in China, significance of establishing this committee and the process of applying for it. The list of candidate for consult experts, chairman, vice chairman, secretary and members was proposed in this meeting. The 2015 annual work plan, the next academic exchange conference and other issues were discussed, too. Professor Shuji Gao gave a lecture about “the marine nitrogen cycle and applying of isotopes” to describe the promoting of stable isotope tracer technique to describe the mechanism of marine nitrogen conversion process.

All the delegates in the conference discussed fully and heavily about future of stable isotope ecology and exchanged their ideas about academic corporation, personnel training and technology promoting.
