Abstract

Social perception refers to the study of the temporal-spatial behavior mode based on big data, which can further reveal the socioeconomic characteristics behind it. It provides a research route “from human to earth”. This report will present the basic principles, a set of methods and related applications of social perception under the support of multi-source geographical big data in respect of location perception, interaction perception, and process perception.

Presenter Profile

Yu Liu, Boya Professor and Vice President of School of Earth and Space Sciences, Peking University, has always been supporting the research work of geospatial model and analysis methods. His theory and method of social perception proposed for geographical big data have a great influence in the international community of academics, participated in over 10 national scientific research projects. He now serves as the associate editor of an international journal for geographic information sciences - Computers, Environment and Urban Systems; granted the National Youth Award for Geographical Science and Technology, China Special Award for Geographical Information Technology Progress.
