Abstract

We have to act on climate change. Deep decarbonization is a huge challenge for China and other developing countries. This presentation will talk about the pathway and policy on global deep decarbonization and the advances in relevant realizations in China, e.g. electric vehicles. Prof. Lee will also talk about his research projects in Harvard Kennedy School and in China.

Presenter Profile

Prof. Henry Lee is the Jassim M. Jaidah Family Director of the Environment and Natural Resources Program within the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government, Faculty Co-Chair of the Sustainability Science Program, and a Senior Lecturer in Public Policy. Before joining the school, Prof. Lee spent nine years in Massachusetts state government as Director of the State's Energy Office and Special Assistant to the Governor for environmental policy. His recent research interests focus on energy and transportation, China's energy policy, and public infrastructure projects in developing countries. Prof. Lee chaired the Kennedy School China Energy and Environment Program and established long-term relationships with many Chinese scholars.
