讲座简介：

This talk will provide an overview of NOAA's Climate Program Office efforts to advance Earth system modeling and prediction capabilities. Main relevant program thrusts to involve the scientific community in NOAA's modeling and prediction efforts will be described. These include foundational research that contribute to community-broad activities as well as application-oriented work to improve NOAA's services. The need for observations to improve modeling and prediction capabilities will also be addressed.

主讲人简介：

Annarita博士1997年毕业于法国巴黎大学，她的主要研究是利用地球系统模式研究水循环和气候之间的联系，关注季节到百年尺度的水循环变化和可预报性。担任美国国家海洋暨大气总署(NOAA)建模分析及预测计划主任多年，是美国全球变化计划和世界气候研究计划的主要成员。
