Letter of Invitation of IIASA YSSP 2024

The IIASA, founded in 1972 and headquartered in Austria, is an interdisciplinary, neutral, non-governmental and non-profit international research institution, enjoying a high reputation in the international academic community. As a main participant in the comprehensive assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the IIASA’s research results have an important impact on the decision-making of all countries around the world. The IIASA aims to contact and organize scientists from all over the world to carry out policy-oriented research work, and, through systematic analysis and modeling, address complex problems such as environment, energy, water, food, climate change and population growth that are difficult for a single country or a single discipline to handle independently. The ECE Program is one of the six programs of the IIASA, and its research goal is to provide scientific support for decision makers by analyzing the multiple benefits of policies in environment, climate and society, so as to meet the challenges in the process of sustainable development. Every year from 1977, the IIASA selects about 50 outstanding doctoral students from all over the world to participate in the YSSP program, and have a three-month academic exchange at the headquarters of Austrian IIASA. The National Natural Science Foundation of China provides financial support for the selected doctoral students from China.
