On December 17, 2020, the Top Ten Classes Creation and Selection Meeting of Beijing University “My Class and My Home” in 2020, sponsored by Beijing University Student Work Society, was successfully held in Beijing University of Technology. A total of 259 classes from 53 universities in Beijing participated in the evaluation, and a total of 28 classes were included in the final evaluation. Finally, class 18 in DESS of Tsinghua University won the “Top Ten Classes”.

The selection is jointly led by the Municipal Committee of Education and Work and the League Municipal Committee’s competent office, representatives of experts in the field of ideological and political work, representatives of the media and representatives of front-line counselors. Affected by the epidemic situation, according to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, this year’s final selection takes the form of experts watching videos on the spot and scoring.

Class 18 in DESS is a horizontal postgraduate class composed of the Atmospheric Science and Ecology in DESS at the 2018 grade. There are 19 students, 13 formal CPC members and 4 reserve CPC members in the class, and the proportion of CPC members is as high as 89.4%. “Small and exquisite, strong cohesion” is the distinct feature of the class 18, “Glory and fight against epidemic” is the epitome and portrayal of the class in the past year.

Since enrollment, class 18 in DESS has been awarded the honorary title of “Advanced Class (Graduate Student) of Tsinghua University in the Academic Year of 2019-2020”, “Advanced Collective of Tsinghua University in Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China”, “Second Group of Pacesetters Party Branch Construction Collective of Tsinghua University”.
