On the evening of March 10, the first " Friday Movie Room" was held in the conference room of the S927, South Building, Mengmingwei Science and Technology Building, hosted by the Department of Earth System Science. The purpose of " Friday Movie Room" is to enrich students’ life and make them relaxed by playing the movies they like every Friday, and then they can be in a more positive mood to solve the problems in their life and researches. Additionally, besides our department, Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, and Chemistry have also taken part in this activity and the six departments take turns to held " Friday Movie Room", so this activity also provides us a chance to communicate with students from other departments.

This week’s movie was a musical comedy “La La Land” directed byDamien Chazelle, which told us a romantic love story between Mia who wanted to be an actor (played by Emma Stone) and Sebastian who purely loved Jazz (played by Ryan Gosling), but they finally broke up because of pursuing their own dreams. Before the activity started, six departments above launched a joint propaganda by posters and WeChat platforms, which attracted many students. Many of them arrived half hour before the start of the activity with no empty seats in the room. About 50 students from 14 departments of Tsinghua University came to watch the movie (Figure 1). With a lot of drinks and snacks, students enjoyed this movie a lot, and after the movie, they expressed the expectation of the future activity.
