In order to solidly launch the theme education of “Stay true to our founding aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind”, review the glorious history of Chinese people wining national victory leading by the Communist Party of China and the Party Central Committee building the People's Republic of China, and remember the great achievements of Comrade Mao Zedong and other older generations of revolutionaries, on October 22, the General Party Branch of the Department of Earth System Science (DESS) and The division of labor jointly organized teachers and staff to visit and study in the commemoration of the Xiangshan Revolution. Luo Yong, General Secretary of the Party branch of the DESS, led the team, and more than 20 faculty members participated in this activity.

Xiangshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall

Xiangshan is the first stop of the Party Central Committee's "going to Beijing for examinations", the seat of the Party Central Committee on the eve of the victory of the Chinese revolution, and an important red memorial site bearing the great revolutionary spirit of the Communist Party of China. Teachers visited the Xiangshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall and the former residence of Mao Zedong in Shuangqing Villa.

Stop to visit

In the Xiangshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall, teachers visited the large-scale theme exhibition “Laying the Foundation for New China-the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Xiangshan”. The exhibition is composed of five parts: “Entering Beijing to ‘exam’”, “Entering Xiangshan”, “continuing to command and liberate the whole China”, “Preparing for the Construction of New China” and “Never forgetting the mission and striving forever”. During the visit, through browsing historical scrolls, teachers looked back on precious historical relics, looking back on the past, looking forward to the future, deeply understand the hard struggle and selfless dedication of the revolutionary forefathers for their original intention and mission.

Through this visit and study, teachers draw strength from history, inherit the red gene, aim to do their own construction, and fulfill their duties with a high sense of political responsibility, never forget their original intention and remember their mission, and transform the achievements of thematic education into practical actions, so as to do their best to promote the reform and development of the DESS.
