On the morning of January 5, 2018, the Department of Earth System Science Department Party Committee and the Democrats' Assessments Meeting were held at the East Conference Room of the San Bao Academic Exchange Base of Tsinghua University. Meeting chaired by the party branch secretary Luo Yong. Qu Weijing, member of the school party committee organization department attended the meeting and organized on-site democratic evaluation. All teachers and employees of the Department of Earth System Science and postdoctoral representatives attended the conference.

On behalf of the chief executive, Gong Peng, head of the department, summarized the progress made by the Department of Earth System Science in 2017 in areas such as talent introduction, disciplinary construction, education and teaching, scientific research and administration. He mainly reported on the progress of the research highlights and academic exchange platforms of the Department of Earth System Science in 2017, and looked forward to the 2018 work priorities.

Party Secretary Luo Yong, on behalf of the Party Committee, made a report on his position. He summarized the deployment and implementation of the requirements of the work of the leading group of the party committee in 2017 on schools to strengthen the party building at the grassroots level and to strengthen ideological and political work. He focused on reporting the various characteristic measures taken by combining the characteristics of geosciences and the ideology of party and government in the faculty.

Subsequently, other members of the Party and executive leading groups conducted their personal reporting activities.

Qu Weijing, the organization department, introduced the procedures and requirements for democratic assessment and organized faculty and staff members to conduct democratic assessments of departmental and political leaders.
