On 16th October, the delegation of the Mexican Academy visited the Department of Earth System Science (DESS), Tsinghua University under the leadership of the Director of the Economic Research Center Dr. Romero Tellaeche, José Antonio. The two sides discussed the issue of industrialization and economic development in Mexico and China.

Prof. Gong Peng welcomed Romero Tellaeche, José Antonio and his colleagues’ first visit and briefed the progress of DESS on the aspect of global change, energy and environment economy. Gong Peng said that the Department of Earth System Science attached great importance to the cooperation with the Mexican universities and research institutions. Today’s discussion will open a new chapter for the future cooperation.

Romero Tellaeche, José Antonio gave a brief account of the history of the Mexican Academy, the development strategy, especially the research of environmental economic policy. Prof. Romero Tellaeche, José Antonio said that in recent years, the cooperation between Mexico and China has been expanding and achieved fruitful results, and it is believed that the future cooperation areas will be further expanded.

After the conference, the delegation of the Mexican Academy visited Tsinghua campus.
