In the morning of May 20th, the general Party branch and sub-union of Department of Earth System Science jointly organized faculty and staff of the whole department to visit "Practical Seeds and Sleeves, Practical Glumes and Chestnuts-Special Exhibition of Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University" and "110 Years of School History Exhibition of Tsinghua University". More than 20 faculty members from various research groups and departments of Department of Earth System Science attended the exhibition.

The special exhibition of the Academy of Arts and Design implied the fruitful results centering on artistic design and creation of serving the country and serving people's livelihood after the establishment of the Academy of Arts and Design with the theme of “Practical Seeds and Sleeves, Practical Glumes and Chestnuts”. Combining the collective visiting experience, faculty and staff of Department of Earth System Science have further studied and comprehended the spirit of Xi Jinping’s significant speech during his inspection of Tsinghua University. In-depth thinking has been given to the need for professional development to closely serve the needs of country and strengthening of aesthetic education in universities of the new era.

During the visiting of 110-year school history exhibition in the school history museum, everyone stopped and watched from time to time in front of the precious school history documents, pictures and objects, and deeply understood the school motto of "Self-discipline and social commitment" and the spirit of "Patriotic dedication and pursuit of excellence" which have been more than 100 years.Everyone left a deep impression on the outstanding achievements of the school in deepening comprehensive reforms, advancing the construction of "double first-class", implementing the global strategy, and strengthening the Communist’s Party's overall leadership of school work and Party building in recent years. Through the visit and study of 110 years of school history, everyone relived the courageous and hard-working spirit played by generations of Tsinghua people during the construction of motherland, and had a deeper understanding of university teachers’ historical mission of educating people for the Party and the country.

After the exhibition, everyone said that by visiting the special exhibition of Academy of Arts and Design and 110-year school history exhibition, they have further deepened their understanding of spirit of Tsinghua University. As university educators, they will devote themselves to the construction of school's "double first-class" with more enthusiasm for work, and make continuous efforts to build a world-class Earth System Science discipline.
