Introduction to the Lecture

The report will introduce the concept of phenology, the development history of phenology, the research methods of vegetation phenology, and the important role of phenology in maintaining biodiversity, reconstructing historical climate sequence, carbon cycle and water cycle of terrestrial ecosystem from different aspects. The report will also introduce a series of scientific problems such as how phenology responds to climate change and its mechanism, eco-hydrological effects of vegetation phenology change, and look into future phenology research under climate change scenarios.
